This paper presents a brief description about the technical features and advantages of underground coal gasification. The paper also gives some accounts about the related present development status both at home and abroad with focus on the long-stride development and breakthroughs achieved in China. This paper also presents ten suggestions and measures for the promotion of the industrialization of underground coal gasification.
