The main concepts, developing actuality and application perspective of DCVE (Distributed Collaborative Virtual Environment) are introduced. And system functions, framework, capability and related key technologies of DCVE are discussed in detail. A typical DCVE prototype system named AST_DCVE, which can support the research of advanced distributed simulation technology and virtual prototype, is introduced.
