Military bounty land is an important issue in U. S. land system. U. S. congress (Federal congress as well) enacted one hundred and more decrees of military bounty land. According to these decrees, about 7000 acres of land were distributed in a few decades. Veterans, however, did not gain much benefit from military bounty land, because land speculators absorbed much. In general, The practice of military bounty land accelerated the westward expansion.
