A New Starting Point of Chinese Linguistics in the New Century──Comments on the 11th annual convention of the Chinese Linguistics Society

中国语言学会第十一届学术年会在海内外具有很大号召力 ,与会人数和提交论文的数量均为历届年会之最。论文内容涉及理论和方法的宏观思考、现代汉语研究、古代汉语研究、汉语方言及非汉族语言研究、外语及对外汉语教学研究等方面 ,质量普遍较高。本届年会是新世纪语言学走向更大成就的辉煌起点。

The 11th annual convention of the Chinese Linguistics Society,which was held on Nov. 3-5,2001 in Yangzhou,had a great influence on the domestic and overseas academic circles.The number of the people attending the convention and the essays handed in reached the highest point.The contents of the essays involved the macro-analysis of theories and methods,the research on modern Chinese,the research on ancient Chinese,Chinese dialects and the minority nationalities' languages,and the Chinese teaching as a foreign language.The essays were generally of high quality.This annual convention is the first step for Chinese linguistics towards greater achievements in the new century.
