多媒体数据库模型及其实现途径之比较研究

Multimedia Data Models and Their Application Methods

本文首先介绍了数据模型的概念和分类，分析了多媒体数据模型的功能特点及建模过程，比较、评价了多媒体数据库三种主要的数据模型的特点、优势和不足，论述了它们的实现途径（即以关键模型为基础进行多媒体扩充、采用面向对象模型的多媒体数据库以及超媒体数据库）。经过研究，指出虽然目前在实际应用中以扩展关系数据库占多数，但是由于多媒体中非结构化信息的特点和关系数据库固有的缺陷，更适于采用面向对象和超媒体的数据模型。

This paper describes the concept of data model and its classification, and analyzes the function characteristics and modeling progress. It compares and discusses the characteristics. advantages and disadvantages of present database models, and dissertates three main data models and their application methods (the first is to extend relational model, the second is to use object-oriented model, and the third is to use hypermedia model). It points out that object-oriented method and hypermedia technology will be the trend of multimedia information management.
