Based on the definitions and operations of interval number and generalized gray number, and their mutual transformation, this paper illustrates the limitation of general gray algebra in interval analysis. The advantage and disadvantage of interval number and generalized gray number in their applications to interval analysis are discussed. The vaguess in some document are clarified. And, some general conclusions are drawn.
