To Apply the Sociolinguistic Theory so as to Deepen the Hakka Dialect Research

社会语言学不但要研究语言和客观社会诸因素之间的关系,而且还要研究主观社会诸因素在语言和言语活动中的反映。据此,我们应该联系社会,多层次、多角度地了解、研究客家方言。同时,又通过客家方言深刻地了解和研究客家这一社会群体。

Sociolinguistics should not only study the relation between languages and the objective social elements, but also study the reflection from the subjective social elements in languages and speech activities. Thus we should socially learn and study the Hakka dialect from different levels and angles. Meanwhile, we should understand and study the social group Hakkas profoundly with the help of the Hakka dialect research.
