In the Five-dynasty period of China, an honest, prudent and benignant emperor was born in Xingtai. The novel 'Guo Wei, First Emperor of the Zhou Dynasty' takes this theme and creates a vivid figure of Guo Wei by applying the type of traditional Chinese novels with captions for each chapter. It describes Guo Wei's struggle from the grass roots to an emperor and contributes significantly for the commendation of the local culture in Xingtai.
