评《师说》两种英译本

On the Two Translations of Shishuo

本文从原文语体风格的处理、原文理解和词汇概念表达上的准确性以及句章翻译的灵活性及其衔接与连贯三个方面对唐代著名散文《师说》的两种英译本做了对比研究 ,并提出杨宪益夫妇的译文要比谢百魁的更地道。

This paper makes a contrastive study on the two translations On the Teacher(Shishuo)from three perspectives:retention of the source text style,comprehension of the source text and correctness in expression as well as flexibility and cohesion/coherence in sentence and text translation.A proposal is made that the translation made by Mr.and Mrs.Yang is better than that of Professor Xie Baikui in terms of readability and nativeness.
