Emily Dickinson was a poetess who had a great influence on American poetry. By using distinctive writing style, she wrote about such topics as death in her poems which other poets had seldom touched upon. It seems to her, death means immortality. Dickinson's peculiar attitude towards death can be accounted for by her family background, religious belief and personal experiences and so on.
