A Modern Presentation of the Prototype of Medea

美狄亚原型中存在着“寻求———失落———复仇”的模式 ,在子君身上见出其为爱寻求与失落 ,在繁漪身上见出失落后的复仇。这个模式以爱为中心 ,体现了“女性与男性的不同寻求”这一长久永恒的主题 ,中国现代文学反映了这种主题和对这主题的扬弃 。

In the prototype of Medea exists a mode of 'seek-lost-revenge'. In Grief over the Deceased by Lu Xun, we can find that Zi Jun embodies the mode of seeking for love when at a loss while Fan Yi is seeking for revenge after having got lost. This mode centering on love reveals two different kinds of search by men and women. In modern Chinese literature, this seemingly everlasting theme, though still exerting its influence, is losing its place.
