Encounter and The Catcher in the Rye respectivey depict the encounter of a young man from Dublin and the experience of sixteen year old American boy. Their experience represented two forms of teenager life of 'struggling to get free from reality but having to return to it' and 'exploring the world but finding in it their disappointment.' The process of growing up is the one that shows the paradox and painful experience of human life.
