Ocinara varians Walker is one major insect pest on Ficus benjaming Mig. The insect larval damages leaves and lender tip of the plant. There exist ten generations of the insect each year in Hainan, China. It takes about 30 days normally or 60 days, at the most, to complete its one generation development. The cumulative active temperature for one generation of O. varians is 501.5 D.T and the threshold temperature for the insect development is 10.6℃. It may be effectively controlled with 90% dipterax (1∶800).
