Agroforestry-An Effective Way for Forest Development

本文将生态系统工程原理作为现代混农林业的理论基础,提出了规划设计现代混农林业生产体系的基本步骤和方法。作者分析了现代林业和传统林业的本质区别,认为把农、林和土地利用有机结合起来,因地制宜,建立生产力高、综合效益大、稳定持续的混农林业生产体系,是发展现代林业的一条有效途径。

In this paper traditional forestry and modern forestry are dis-cussed in view of development and utilization of forest resources. Accor-ding to the principles, methods and techniques of ecosystem engineeringwhich are derived from the theory and methodology of system ecologyand system engineering, an agroforestry can be established to includeagronomy, silviculture, animal husbandry, fish-breeding, their sideline production and intermediate processes. They can be purposely integratedinto a sustainable productive system for the maximum economic benefits,ecological security and social services on the basis of the localsocio-eeonomic background, natural conditions, technical level andcharacteristics of the selected trees, crops, and animals. Such a land-use management system could provide more opportunities of employment,short-term income, and food or cash crops that are very important forsuccessful afforestation and forest management, especially in the developingcountries.
