Being regarded as an innovation and development in the history of Chinese literature,the marine literature of the Song and Yuan dynasty in China is noted far the following three sharp epoch characters: 1. It stressed the innovation and development of marine literature which had come into being as early as the pre Qing dynasty by means of various subjects about seas and oceans with literary genres. 2. It represented the open mindedness and sea oriented thinking of the marine literature by means of a particular social background opening to the outside world in its own age. 3. It approached peoples value orientalion on the seas by means of broad vision and multi aspected aesthetic pursuits.
