摘要
讨论“教师”这一概念的内涵 ,或者讨论诸如对于教师的期望、要求 ,以及教师专业水平提高等问题时 ,必须深入研究当前我们所处时代的特征、我国的社会需求和我国教育、尤其是我国教师的现状。工业革命以来 ,教育工作和教师工作的全部内涵都可以简约为传授知识。但在知识经济时代 ,这种模式已越来越不能适应时代的需要。在知识经济时代 ,教师的工作应该实现由“教书”向“育人”的转变。从“教会知识”转变为使学生“学会学习” ,使学生“接受”转变为“创造”。换言之 ,时代需要研究型教师。
A discussion on what's involved in the definition of \!the teacher\' or on his/her expectations, requirements, his/her professional level and etc must be based on a deep study of the characteristics of the times, the social needs of our country and our education, and above all, the status quo of the teachers in China. Since the Industrial Revolution, what's involved in the educational work and the teacher's job can be briefly interpreted as passing on knowledge. But in the knowledge\|based economy, the traditional mode has become more and more unsuitable for the times. During this age, the teacher's job must realize the conversion from \!teaching the book\' to \!educating the person\', from \!passing on knowledge\' to make students \!learn how to learn\', turning the student from being formerly \!receptive\' to being \!creative\'. In other words, times call for the teacher of this era.
