Zuocun is a small Hakka country in the northern Guangdong province.This paper describes the society life of Zuocun before 1949,which puts emphases on the folk custom and Hakka womens family life.It is concluded that before 1949 Zuocun belonged to Chinese traditional rural society and characteristics of Zuocun womens family life were restricted to this pattern.
