The Review of Study on the Relationship Between Working Memory and Comprehension

工作记忆是当代认知心理学研究的一个重要领域。它是一种记忆系统 ,用于有限容量的信息的暂时性储存和加工 ,在许多复杂的认知活动中起作用 ,如语言理解等。我们考察分析了工作记忆和理解之间关系 ,其中之一是在工作记忆三元素模型中讨论理解 ,即视觉空间模板、语音环和中央执行系统。结果表明 ,大多数情况下 ,语音环和中央执行系统对于理解是必要的。

Working memory is one of the important fields in modern cognitive psychology. It is defined as the memory system that stores and processes a limited amount of information temporarily. Working memory plays a role in many complicated cognitive activities, such as comprehension. One of studies on the relation between working memory and comprehension is discussing comprehension in the three-element model of working memory(Baddeley&Hitch, 1974), including visuospatial sketchpad, phonological loop and central executive. The result shows that phonological loop and central executive are essential in many situations.
