The effects of monomer feed methods and its hydrophilicity as well as initiator on the morphology of composite polymer particles was introduced. The thermodynamic and kinetics approaches to predict particle morphology were summarized, and the design principles of particles were discussed. The applications of composite polymer particles were also reviewed.
