The aim and significance of modifying flame retardaney of epoxy resins were elucidated and (he corresponding flame retarding methods were introduced.The flame- retardation mechanisms of several kinds of conventional flame retardant were discussed hased on the gas - phase mechanism and condensed - phase mechanism. Through analyzing the status of flame retarding technologies of epoxy resins, it is pointed out that the development trend of the technologies is featured of security, adopting new technique, complex functionalizalion and systemization in study.
