摘要
美国英语来源于英国英语。独特的美国民族精神是导致美国英语不同于英国英语的重要原因 ,美国英语又在许多方面折射出了其典型的民族精神。早期民族精神中的怀旧性 ,使美国英语发展初期 ,在一定程度上具有很强的保守特点 ;美国精神中乐观进取、追求自由平等的特性 ,使美国英语表现出幽默生动、大众化的特点 ;美国独特的历史文化条件和民族精神中的实用主义观念 ,使美国英语具有轻视陈规、善于借鉴和富于创造性的特点。
By analyzing the characteristics and evolution of the American English language, the author of aims at bringing out the influence of American spirit on the language in three aspects: 1) in its early stage, immigrants nostalgia led to the conservativeness of the language; 2) optimism and yearning for freedom and equality has endowed the language with a flavor of humor and popularization; and 30 pragmatism has enabled the language to be non_tradition_oriented, apt of borrowing and fond of novelty.
