五四时期儿童的发现和外国儿童文学的影响催生了“童心崇拜”之热潮。童心作为反封建专制的突破口和反污浊人世的避风港而被礼赞 ,它寄寓着新文学作家们的社会理想和人格理想。“童心崇拜”极大地张扬了儿童的主体地位和童心“美” 。

The discovery of children and the influence of foreign children literature brought an upsurge about worship of childishness. Being a breakthrough against feudalism and a haven against ugly society, childish heart was hotly praised,which showed ideals of society and personality of the new literature writers.Such a worship extruded the children's status and beauty of personality greatly, and accelerated the pace to get modernity and aesthetic characters of Chinese children literature.
