Speed up the Progress of the Urbanization to Promote the Tourism Development of the Western Regions in China

旅游开发是当前西部大开发的重要内容 .城市因是旅游开发的主要客源地、目的地和依托基地而成为区域旅游系统的核心 .通过充分调研分析 ,认为加快西部旅游区城市化进程 ,对促进旅游业的发展和西部大开发均具有重要意义 ,而目前西部地区城市化的滞后严重制约了旅游开发 .提出了必须从调整城市发展方针、适度加快大城市建设、有效保护自然生态环境、调整城市发展人口政策、加强城市形象建设以及加强东西部城市合作等方面着眼 ,加快西部地区、尤其是旅游区城市化进程 ,以此为先导 。

Tourism development is an important content in the current western development. Urban is the core of tourism system as being a main source of tourism, destination and dependent base in tourism development. Based on investigation and analysis, the author considers that speeding up the progress of the urbanization to promote the tourism development of the western regions in China is important. But the tourism development has been conditioned due to the delayed urbanization in the western regions. This paper proposes to speed up the progress of the urbanization to push the tourism development in the western regions, puts forward five countermeasures from the angle of:to readjust the policy of urban development,to speed up progress of the city infrastructure construction, to readjust the population,to strengthen the construction of city images and to coordinate the western and eastern regions.
