quality development is an inevitable requirement for adapting to the major contradictions in our society,and is the fundamental principle of China's economic development in the new era.Highquality development is a philosophy,mode and strategy for development,according to which quality improvement is the orientation,core and goal of development.It is a major innovation to the theory of economic development.It is an important part of Xi Jinping's socialist economic thought with Chinese characteristics for a new era.It has a greater welfare effect and richer GDP connotations.It improves economic efficiency by lowering the cost,and ultimately achieves more coordinated,stable and sustainable high-level development.In practice,we need to develop a set of indicators and a statistical system which reflect high-quality development,and improve the performance appraisal system,as well as the institutions and mechanisms that accommodate high-quality development.
