英国人国家认同建构中的公民教育:作用考察与背景分析

多元文化社会已成为当今世界普遍存在的社会现实,同时也不断冲击着统一的国家身份认同。英国的国家身份认同问题由于国内四个地区历史和文化的差异性,长久以来没有得到根本性的解决。而这种差异所导致的分权政治体制以及由此造成的教育系统和公民教育课程的多样性,使得公民教育在构建统一国家身份认同中没有发挥出应有的作用。在多元文化背景下,特别是在英国这样一个有着独特历史传统和政治体系的国家,英国四个地区公民教育政策作为加强国家身份认同的重要途径,公民教育在建构统一国家身份认同方面的作用还有待于进一步加强。

Multicultural society has been the social reality of today’s world,and madegreat impacts on national identity. The national identity problem has not been solved com-pletely for ages in the UK owing to the differences of history and culture within its fourhome nations. It’s the political decentralisation resulted by the differences and thereof di-versity of education system as well as of citizenship education make the effect of citizenshipeducation in constructing united national identity less significant. By brief analysing the pol-icies of citizenship education of four home nations of the UK,a conclusion has been madethat in the context of multicultural society,especially a country like the UK which hasunique historical tradition and political system,the role that citizenship education plays inthe construction of united national identity needs to be reinforced as an important way of strengthening national identity.
