钱学打通古今之道与术——以《谈艺录》《管锥编》为例

钱钟书术业之所成,尤在于"通":打通古今典籍,化通诸学原理,凿通文化国界,汇通中西学术,加之其笔通文白二体,文通研创二域,终使其旧体之"通"学成新学之要术。钱学打通古今之缘由,一为家学传统之影响,二为时代环境之催发;钱学打通古今之凭借,一为其杂、活、实、广之引文四术,二为其神聚、意隐、体旧、韵奇之行文四法;钱学打通古今之所成,一为贯通诸学,承旧布新,二为还原真相,解构神坛,三为弭除偏见,钩沉学理;钱学打通古今之所失,一为难懂,失去与今日寻常读者之缘,二为难学,使"通学之法"难通于后世学人,三为不通一时,其探微古今所悟之道,通于著述之内,通于心心之间,通于天人之际,通于代代之传,而独不通于当时之世。

The biggest academic achievement of Qian Zhongshu is his "thoroughness".He is through between present and history,among numerous theories,western and eastern,and learning and creativity etc.The major factors that enabled his thoroughness achievement are his family,the then society he's lived in,his four methods of writing and his four ways of referencing.Because of his thoroughness,he is able to connect numerous studies and bridge the past to the present;he is able to reveal the truth;and he is able to eliminate the biases.But,his thoroughness made his work difficult for people to understand and learn,therefore,disconnected from the present.
