The applications of a safety brake and a safety monitoring system to metallurgical crane sere described.In terms of current status of the crane industry,the necessity and rationality of reconstructing metallurgical crane were outlined.At present,real-time monitor of operating parameters of metallurgical crane was failure to carry out.The crane may be monitored by installation of camera,and collections of mass,speed,heights of main-and sub-hooks,stroke and other parameters.In addition,the problem that the reel and high speed shaft cannot be reliably braked has been removed by installation of a dual-braking system,thus reducing unsafety,and increasing dependability of safe operating of the metallurgical crane.
