The distinguished African American literary critic,Houston Baker,is well-known for his active learning from and referring to post-structural literary criticism,and for his attempt to construct African American literature and its critical tradition.However,he is almost always consistent with black nationalism,and his criticism of literature and culture,and his visions of black aesthetic,based on his close reading of literary texts,provide multiple perspectives for readers in reconsidering the sociality and textuality of African American literature.
