Through an analysis of the origin of the tragedy in Shakespeare's Richard Ⅲ,this article reveals the correlation between Gloucester's singular fate and political theology.Exploring how his "double bodies" construct this tragedy,it also makes explicit the indeterminate "threshold"that results in the tension of the drama.A detailed research on Richard Ⅲ helps us understand the relationship between theology and politics in Shakespeare's plays.
