艾丽丝·门罗的小说写的是加拿大小镇中普通女性的爱情和日常生活,涉及的却都是和生老病死相关的严肃主题。以女性主义理论家波伏娃作品《第二性》中的女性主义理论为依据,从女性主义的角度解读门罗的短篇小说《法力》,论述作品中反映出的男权社会中不平等的两性关系,分析男权制对女性造成的压抑和束缚以及女性的反抗与觉醒,但最终女性又回归家庭的过程。

Alice Munro's stories focus on the daily life and love of ordinary women in the small town of Canada and cover such serious topics as birth,death,illness and old age.Based on feminist theory,es- pecially that of Simone de Beauvoir's masterpiece The Second Sex,the paper is a textual analysis of Alice Munro's short novel.It intends to expose the inequality between men and women,analyze patriarchal op- pression on women as well as the revolt of women and demonstrate the process of women's awakening and returning.
