摘要
《推背图》是中国古代重要的文化典籍,但长期以来,此书的译介问题却很少受到学界关注。本文在发现无名氏英译的《推背图》后,经详细考证,确定了译者为晚清时期著名传教士李提摩太,其底本为带有东海野人序言的明系版本。李氏《推背图》译本不但选本独到,诞生时间最早,还早于底本17年公开出版,从而形成了中国典籍翻译史上独特的"我生君未生"现象。
Tui Bei Tu is an important Chinese cultural classic.However,the study on translation of this book has long eclipsed from scholars'attention.After discovering an anonymous translated version of Tui Bei Tu,this article proves that it is Timothy Richard who translated this book,and its original version is Donghaiben (a Pseudo-Ming edition with a preface written by Wild Man from Eastern Sea)through detailed investigation.As the earliest translation of Tui Bei Tu with unique vision in original version selection,Richard's version was published 17 years earlier than the original,and thus a unique phenomenon- translation born earlier than original-appears in the history of Chinese classics translation.
