STEM教育在精神医学专业英语中的应用与评价

The application of STEM education in the teaching of professional English of Psychiatry

目的探索将STEM教育应用于精神医学专业英语的教学改革中,评价其教学效果。方法于2017年9月选择蚌埠医学院2015年级精神医学专业120名学生作为研究对象,随机分为对照组和实验组,每组各60人。对照组采取传统的课堂教学模式,实验组采取课堂教学加STEM教育模式,对其专业英语考试成绩和教学效果评价进行统计分析。结果实验组《精神医学专业英语》专业词汇、翻译、写作以及总成绩均高于对照组(P<0.05);实验组学生在"增强参与性""提高学习兴趣""增强自主学习能力""加深对理论知识的理解"4个方面的满意度高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论精神医学专业英语的STEM教学模式整合了专业英语、文献检索、计算机网络技术、社会文化学等学科的知识,促进了医学生翻译和写作等能力的提升,有力提高了课堂教学效果,促进了精神医学专业学生综合素质的培养。

Objective To investigate the affection of STEM education in teaching reform of Psychiatry English.Methods In September 2017,120 students majored in psychiatry in Bengbu Medical College were chosen as study subjects,randomly divided them into control group and experimental group,each with 60 students.The control group adopts the traditional classroom teaching mode.The experimental group adopts the classroom teaching and STEM education model,and statistically analyze the test scores of professional English and teaching effect.Results The professional vocabulary,translation,writing and total scores of the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).The satisfaction of the experimental group in four aspects of "enhancing participation","improving interest in learning","enhancing autonomous learning ability" and "deepening understanding of theoretical knowledge"was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The STEM teaching model integrates the knowledge of professional English,literature retrieval, computer network technology,social culture and so on.It promotes medical students"ability of translation and writing,improves classroom teaching effect,and promotes the cultivation of comprehensive quality of students majoring in psychiatry.
