Forty years anniversary of Zhongguancun

北京之西北郊,有区名海淀。自古山水绝佳,人文荟萃。有清一代历二百年营造三山五园,举世闻名。上世纪清华、北大几十所高等学府和中国科学院陆续兴建于海淀区中关村一带,遂成中国乃至世界罕见智力密集地带。有戏谑曰:中关村提篮子买菜老头,非院士即教授。历史忽至1978年。全国科学大会开启科学春天,伟人邓小平提出"科学技术是第一生产力"。

In the northwestern suburbs of Beijing, there is a district named Haidian. Since ancient times, the mountains and rivers are excellent and the humanities are beautiful. There are two generations of the Three Hills and Five Parks in the Qing Dynasty. In the last century; dozens of institutions of higher learning and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Tsinghua University and Peking University successively built in the Zhongguancun area of Haidian District, which has become a rare intellectual intensive area in China and the world.
