韩愈惧为史官发覆——以《答刘秀才论史书》的绎说为中心

On Han Yu's Fear of Being a Historian——Interpreting His Article of An Answer to Scholar Liu on History

元和八年三月韩愈迁职史馆修撰未久曾作有《答刘秀才论史书》文,其中有畏为史官及懈怠史职之议论,不免引起后人对其道德操守的误会。通过解读文中相关议论,分析韩愈写作此文的特殊心态、其所认同的为史理念、任史职时的现实情境以及其实际作为,可掘发韩愈文中所涉惧为史官议论之心理幽赜,从而消除由此产生的相关误解。

Han Yu was promoted to the History Museum to compile documents in March, 813 A.D. Soon afterwards,he wrote an article An Answer to Scholar Liu on History, which included discussions on his fearing to be a historian and to be slack in his duties which inevitably led to misunderstandings about his moral integrity. By interpreting the relevant comments in this article, this paper, by analyzing the special mentality of Han Yu in writing this article, his historical ideas, the realistic situation in which he was promoted to this position and his actual actions, revealed Han Yu’s mentality of fearing being a historian, thus to eliminate the related misunderstandings.
