Date of Death and the Alias Research for Yuan Zuzhi

晚清文人袁祖志长年寓居上海,活跃于近代上海报坛,是由旧式文人向报界文人转型的典型代表,然其生平、著述至今争议尚多。本文以袁氏本人著述和《申报》为主要考查对象,辅以当时其他相关文献,爬梳剔抉,详细考订其卒年及著述所署别号,拟为今后的相关研究解决基本问题。

YuanZuzhi,who is an old scholar and lived in Shanghai in the late Qing Dynasty,was active on the press,later transformed into a typical representative of the press scholars.But about his life and writings,up to now there are still a lot of controversy.In this paper,Yuan Zuzhi's own writings and Shen Bao as the main test object,supplemented by other relevant literature at that time,organize to choose, details examine and correct the date of death and the writings of the department alias,for future research to solve the basic problem.
