从《青衣》英译版的三种叙事方式看译者身份的隐现 被引量:1

The( In) visibility of the Translator in the English Translation of the Three Narrative Modes in The Moon Opera

摘要 本文以葛浩文、林丽君所译的中国当代小说家毕飞宇的中篇小说《青衣》英译本为例,聚焦译者对原著中叙事方式的处理,对比分析中、英版叙述者视角的异同,说明译文在叙述者视角处理上的忠实或改变对小说主题的表现有着重要的影响,甚至决定着小说所要传达的价值取向。文章指出,译者的隐现一方面不可避免地受着不同性质的两种语言表现形式(表意和表形)的影响,但同时它也是译者本人的自主选择,是译者主体性的体现。这种选择在有意与无意间导致了原文作者的意图在译文中发生了变化。这是译者与作者、原文与译文之间的对话的结果,是译文对原文的干预,体现出的是译者在隐现中传达的主体性。这种主体性直接影响翻译的传播效果,需引起研究者重视。 Taking the English translation of the contemporary Chinese writer Bi Feiyu's novella The Moon Opera as a case study,this paper focuses on the translation of the three narrative modes in the text by comparing the similarities and differences between the original and the translation of the three narrative perspectives.It argues that the (in)fidelity of the translator in rendering the narrative perspectives has a strong impact on the understanding of the text by the target language readers,for although the (in)fidelity of the translator is inevitably governed by the nature of the two languages (content-oriented for Chinese and form-oriented for English),it is all the more a choice made by the translator himself,which reveals the translator's own subjectivity.These choices are the result of the negotiation between the translator and the author and the interference of translation upon the original.They may lead to changes in the intention of the author and consequently the reception of the text.This is worth our special attention in the study of the promotion of Chinese literature abroad.
