英国当代作曲家乔治·本杰明(George Benjamin)有着与生俱来的非凡音乐才能,他7岁开始学习作曲技法,16岁即成为法国著名作曲家奥利维埃·梅西安(Oiivier Messiaen)的学生,梅西安曾亲口表示本杰明为他最钟爱的学生。

George Benjamin's opera Written on Skin has become one of the most frequently staged contemporary operas. His opera requires tremendous technique from the singers; the five vocalists who performed in Shanghai delivered a spectacular performance.
