The first ever translation service standard,ISO17100:2015,has been published by the International Organization for Standardization (abbr.ISO).This standard requires translation service providers to hire degree holders of translation study. Until February 2016,the author had surveyed graduate schools in Japan and found that few universities had yet established any Master of Translation and Interpretation (MTI)courses, even in English-Japanese translation. While in China,a few universities provide MTI courses in Japanese-Chinese.This implies that if these Chinese universities have any chance to accept Japanese students into their MTI courses, they might enhance the learning environment so that students could teach their first langnage to others in class. Moreover,it would be invaluable to the students if they could make friends with foreign students who are becoming translators in the translation industry.
