ICT Application and the Reconstruction of Social Inequility:Phenomenon and Mechanism

本文试图探索信息通讯技术(以下简称ICT)如何影响了社会不平等状况。ICT应用的直接影响是改变了信息的分布状态和流动模式,进而重塑了信息环境。同时,由于人们在ICT的接入机会、具体使用、既有条件存在明显的差异,ICT应用也参与到了社会不平等原有的生产机制中。本文还提出了未来这一领域研究需要关注的方向,比如重视围绕ICT应用构筑起来的观念体系的影响、线上-线下不同机制的互动等。

This paper attempts to explore how information and communication technologies (ICTs)affect social inequality.The direct impact of ICT applications on social inequality is that it changes the distribution and flow patterns of information,and thus reshapes the information environment.At the same time, due to unequal conditions in ICT access,usage and context,ICT applications also directly involve in the reproduction mechanism of social inequality.This paper also proposes directions for future research,such as the impact of the conceptual system built by ICT applications and the online-offline interaction mechanisms.
