Since the beginning of the 21st century,culture has been gradually introduced into the study of American diplomatic history.Wang Xiaode's monograph,The Cultural Otherness--An Historical Examination of European Anti-Americanism,by focusing on Europe's resistance against the "Americanization",mainly studies the historical evolution and influences of European anti-Americanism since the colonial era from the perspective of cultural conflicts.It reveals and analyzes the images of American "cultural otherness"constructed by the European cultural elite.This book helps us understand and respond to the current soft power diplomacy of the U.S.
