Besides providing public function and beauty in form, public building also has its important and indispensable function to create and define rich urban spaces that enhance urban vitality of a city. In the design of the youth activity center at the 2022 Asian Games,we make our attempt to create public space through carefully designed relationship between the building and its external urban environment Within the building lot.total area of the created public space exceeds the land area In this way, the endeavor of the building returns the city’s land on which it occupies back to the city’s public realm. Besides that the quality of the public space is achieved by designing the building as a physical site of mufti-dimensional public space, while its function providing impetus for activities in public space.
