北爱尔兰和平协定的实施及其启示

Reflections on the Northern Ireland Peace Progress

自1998年《贝尔法斯特协定》签署以来,北爱尔兰社会整体上保持了和平稳定的局面,社会生活回归到正常状态,经济实现了繁荣增长。20年和平局面的实现,得益于英国、爱尔兰、美国和欧盟等利益攸关方为落实《贝尔法斯特协定》而做出的持续努力。但是,北爱和平并非坦途,仍面临英国脱欧等多重挑战。总体而言,北爱和平进程的实践为其他冲突地区解决类似问题提供了有益参考。

The Belfast Agreement,which was signed in 1998,dedicated to build a peaceful and stable Northern Ireland.The peace deal brought much-needed normality and economic prosperity to this region.Sustained efforts by the United Kingdom,Ireland,the United States and the European Union have been made for twenty years of peace in Northern Ireland.Northern Ireland’s peace is not taken for granted and it still faces a number of challenges,including the unresolved question of identity and Brexit.On the whole,the experience of peace process of Northern Ireland can be used as a reference for other conflict areas in the world to solve similar problems.
