Objective To explore the effect and safety of modified Wendan decoction in treating mesenteric lymphadenitis in children. Methods From January 2014 to December 2017,76 children with mesenteric lymphadenitis diagnosed as phlegm-heating type in children were divided into two groups according to the ratio of 1: 1,with 38 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine. On the basis of this, the treatment group added the self-made Wendan decoction. The clinical efficacy was compared. The recurrence rate was followed-up. Results The transverse and longitudinal diameters of lymph nodes in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group( P < 0. 05). The average abdominal pain relief time and fever time in the treatment group were less than those in the control group( P < 0. 05). The total effective rate of the treatment group was 89. 47%,which was higher than that of the control group( 65. 79%)( P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference in the recurrence rate of abdominal pain between the two groups( P > 0. 05).Conclusion Compared with simple Western medicine treatment, the modified Wendan decoction has significant advantages in the treatment of mesenteric mesenteric lymphadenitis in children, which can significantly reduce the enlarged lymph nodes and improve symptoms, and has a promotion value.
