被汉学遮蔽的一代朱子学者汪绂

Wang Fu: A Scholar of Song Scholarship in the Shadow of Han Scholarship

作为徽州的两位著名学者,汪绂、江永二人每每被人并提;但在当日,二贤的遭际却截然有异。汪绂卫道最严,"一以朱子为折衷",多种著述也确实能代表清中期理学的实绩,在上下基本一致的尊崇程朱的社会氛围中,理应受到时人的重视或推尊,但实际上却远非如此。除去学术本身的因素,还有其他诸多因素,如时代风尚、人脉关系、个人好恶等,特别是纷繁人事的介入,更直接影响着时人对汪绂著述的接受和认可。

Although Wang Fu and Jiang Yong were all prominent scholars from Huizhou,Anhui,they were given very different treatment.By rights Wang,who was a staunch apologist defending lixue (the Learning of Principle),should reap respect.But the reality was another story.Wang in his twilight years lived a mis- erable life.Behind this there were so many things worth being investigated.Put plainly,the increasing popularity of Han scholarship hid many brilliant scholars of Song scholarship from public view.
