Research on the Official Public Evidence in the Song Dynasty

宋代公据应用范围很广,可用作路证和贸易许可证明,身份、资历等人事证明,土地等不动产产权证明,纸币和有价证券,减免赋役证明和出版物版权证明等诸多方面。其内容包括持据人的申请词、发证机关的批准词、发证时间和用印、审批人的押署等四个部分。宋代公据同时具有证明文书、担保文书、司法文书等多重功能。

The Public evidence was widely used in the Song Dynasty.It could be used as a certificate of road certificate and trade license,identification of identity and qualifications,proof of property rights of land and other immovable property,paper money and negotiable securities,proof of exemptions and copyright,proof of publications.The contents include four parts:the application of the holder,the approving term of the issuing authority,the time of issuing the certificate and the seal,the approval department,etc.The public evidence in Song Dynasty also had multiple functions such as certification documents,guarantee documents and judicial documents.
