摘要
2018年6月21日,"高校内部治理体系创新的理论与实践研究"课题组对斯坦福大学前校长约翰·亨尼西进行了访谈。通过访谈表明,斯坦福大学在内部治理上采用了共同治理模式,董事会对大学事务具有最终决定权,它委托以校长为首的行政团队来管理大学,委托教师来负责学术事务;在校生和校友等不同利益相关者积极参与大学治理。信任文化对斯坦福大学的内部治理至关重要。学生规模的扩大给斯坦福大学的内部治理带来了挑战。
The research project"A Theoretical and Practical Research on the Innovation of the Internal Governances System in Higher Education Institutions(HEIs)"were luckily to interview Professor Hennessey about the internal governance in HEIs at Stanford University in 21 st June 2018.Based on our interview,we understood that Stanford University has practiced a shared governance model that the Board of Trustees has the ultimate power in the university operation.However,it delegates its power to the administration including the President and other key officials for the university management and to the faculty for academic issues.Meanwhile,students,alumni and other stakeholders actively participate in Stanford's internal governing process.It is evident that the trust culture has played a crucial role in Stanford's current internal governance system.The expansion of students also challenges Stanford's internal governance system.
