Teenage war trauma is a recurrent theme in Suzanne Collins’ s young adult science fiction. In her Hunger Games, Collins portrays the teenagers’ various sufferings in the war. With spotlight on the traumatic collective memory of Disctrict 12, the novel describes the war trauma of all the districts and analytically evaluates various methods of healing the traumatized teenagers. Aiming to deepen human understanding of the brutality of war, Collins criticizes the tremendous damage of war and inspires thinking on the past, present and future of human society.
