同译性与二语词频对英语搭配加工的影响

Effects of Translational Congruency and L2 Lexical Frequency on English Collocational Processing

本研究采用在线合理性判断任务,以同一节点词与不同搭配词组合而成的英汉同译-异译搭配为实验材料,考察了同译性与二语词频(单词词频和搭配频率)对中国EFL学生英语搭配加工的交互影响。混合效应模型分析发现:1)高低水平组学生判断同译性的错误率差异显著但在反应时间上无显著差异;2)单词词频和搭配频率交互影响着低水平组的反应时,而只有搭配频率对高水平组的反应时有影响,二语词频效应因此呈现语言水平差异;3)搭配词频在低水平组的反应时上表现出同译性差异,其效应因二语词频效应而消减。

The present study investigates the interaction effects of translational congruency and L2 lexical frequency(word frequency and collocational frequency) on English collocational processing of low and advanced proficiency groups of Chinese EFL learners. Online acceptability judgment tasks on two types of same-node collocations(L2-L1 congruent and incongruent collocations) were adopted and learners. performances were subsequently analyzed via mixed-effects modeling. The analysis revealed that: 1) the two proficiency groups differed significantly in error rates(ER) but insignificantly in reaction time(RTs) of responses to the congruent collocations;2) word frequency and collocational frequency interactively affected RTs of the low-proficiency group while only collocational frequency had effect on RTs of the high-proficiency group, showing proficiency influence on lexical frequency;and 3) translational congruency had a significant mediating effect merely on RTs of the low proficiency group and this effect varied inversely with L2 lexical frequency.
