摘要
《红楼梦》中的贾宝玉,以其唯美之爱面对世俗,既不为家族"谋食",也不为社会"谋道",类似于林语堂所说的"漂泊者"。《红楼梦》的不同凡响之处在于,一方面以巨大的勇气写出了这个"漂泊者"超越庸常的唯美情怀,另一方面也对经济权的重要性给予了清醒的关注:没有经济权,就没有力量抗拒习俗和习见;思想的独立必须有经济的独立作后盾。
Jia Baoyu in The Dream of Red Mansions faces the secular world with his love of aestheticism.He does not "making a living"for the family,nor does he "seeking morality and justice"for the society.He is similar to what Lin Yutang called the "vagrant".The extraordinary thing in The Dream of Red Mansions lies in the fact that,on the one hand,Jia Baoyu as a "vagrant"hasaesthetic feelings with great courage to transcend mediocrity.On the other hand,it has also given sober attention to the importance of economic power.Without economic power,there is no power to resist secular world.Therefore,the independence of thought must be backed by economic independence.
