Resistance and transcendence to suffering——On the character struggle under the influence of localization and urbanization in The Ordinary World

《平凡的世界》讲述了孙少安和孙少平两兄弟的人生经历和喜怒哀乐,深刻诠释了"苦难"的精神实质。作为亲兄弟的少平和少安,在接踵而至的磨难面前做出了不同反应:受不同思想环境的熏陶,源于乡土化给少安带来的是对现实的清醒认识,使他成为务实派,而城市化给少平带来的是对外面世界的无限向往,使之成为理想主义者。无论是务实派还是理想主义者,他们最终都凭借自己的努力实现了对苦难的反抗与超越。

The Ordinary World tells the life experiences,joys and sorrows of Sun Shaoan and Sun Shaoping,which profoundly interprets the spiritual essence of"suffering".As blood brothers,Shaoping and Shaoan made different reactions in face of the subsequent hardships.Influenced by different ideological environments,Shaoan had a clear understanding of reality owing to localization,which makes him a pragmatist.And what urbanization brings to Shaoping is the infinite yearning for the outside world,which makes him an idealist.Whether they are pragmatists or idealists,they have finally achieved their resistance and transcendence to suffering with their own efforts.
